Sitting is one of the human body’s most basic functions, and unemployed people like basic things. When they were employed, they did plenty of sitting in front of the computer all day. But without a job, the unemployed try to devote as much time as possible to sitting regardless of what activity it’s tied to, if any.
The great thing about sitting is that the unemployed can do it from just about anywhere. If they are homebodies they can sit in bed, on the couch, on a lazyboy recliner, on the toilet with a good book or magazine, or on the ground in front of the TV during an intense video game match. Some might attempt extending their sitting to less obvious places like the coffee table, or dinner table, but usually those are too cluttered with dirty dishes and unpaid bills for a decent sit. Comfort is key when it comes to sitting.
More adventurous unemployed people might actually leave their homes to sit all over the great outdoors, or at least another indoor venue. Some unemployed folk are more inclined to do things like sit in a movie theater at 2pm on a weekday or sit in a dog park creepily plotting out a dognapping. Others might enjoy doing things like sitting, fishing and drinking while catching no fish, sitting on a bus to reach a final destination to fulfill a goal of sitting on a bar stool to drink, or sitting on a yoga ball to attempt to burn the calories from sitting on the couch eating copious amounts of junk food.
It’s not uncommon for an outsider to ask what an unemployed person is up to and get the response, “Sitting.” Unemployed people like to save all their energy for lurking in the middle of the night, so sitting is a great way to reserve the energy built up from 12 hours of sleep. Sometimes, unemployed people just enjoy sitting and doing nothing, but more often sitting while doing something is preferred, especially if they can easily go from an upright sitting position to a reclined napping position. Ultimately, the unemployed are happiest as long as they have snacks and beverages handy from wherever they’re sitting.

“Unemployed people like to save all their energy for lurking in the middle of the night”. I just about choked on my seventeenth cup of coffee. Hilarious

You forgot sitting and hating yourself.
You forgot sitting and never getting a call back.
What about sitting when the police come and evict you..
You forgot sitting… and nodding like a fiend in an abandoned project with no prospects and no electricity and no food.
Or sitting in a public library typing this.
seroiusly, i’ve been umemployed for 80 weeks. and i’ve tried some part time work and this and that. but the truth is that this has no business being item #61. this is item #1. take it from me.
I am not an easily amused person. But I am reading this
blog at work and am having an extremely difficult time keeping
myself composed at my desk. This is the most hysterical blog I have
ever read.
